The club also won the Supporters' Shield for the best regular season record and reached the CONCACAF Champions League final, where they lost to Chivas Guadalajara. Sebastian Giovinco was named MLS MVP, while Greg Vanney won Coach of the Year honors. The 2017 season established Toronto FC as one of MLS's premier franchises.
