The Leagues Cup is an inter-league competition between all MLS and Liga MX clubs. Launched in its current format in 2023, it takes place during summer with both leagues pausing their regular seasons.
The inaugural 2023 edition was won by Inter Miami, led by Lionel Messi. The Leagues Cup provides meaningful competitive matches between the two largest soccer leagues in North America and offers CONCACAF Champions Cup qualification.
